The Rasengan (螺旋丸, Literally meaning: Spiraling Sphere) is a technique created and developed by Minato Ryūzaki.

The Rasengan is a technique wherein the users creates a spinning ball of chakra formed and held in the palm of the user's hand. It was created by Minato Ryūzaki after studying the Bijudama used by the Tailed Beasts.

The Rasengan is the absolute pinnacle of Shape Manipulation, and one the highest form of Chakra Control in general. Although they can be used to help the user focus and hone their Chakra prior to actually forming it, the Rasengan does not require any Seals to be performed. Once manifested, the Rasengan also doesn't require the user to constantly feed the technique any more Chakra to keep it active as it is a self-sustaining technique.

While the Rasengan's shape is generally the same among its various users, factors such as age and Chakra Prowess do play a factor.

On contact, the Rasengan grinds into its target, propels them along the Rasengan's trajectory - either away from the user or into the ground beneath them - and at some point bursts, causing severe damage at the point of contact.

Nature Transformation Variants

So far, the Rasengan has five known Nature Transformation variants, one for each of the five Basic Natures; the Earth Release: Rasengan, Fire Release: Rasengan, Lightning Release: Rasengan, Water Release: Rasengan, and the Wind Release: Rasengan.
